Synopsis

In this thriller from India, Shankar is a mute servant of Rajasaab. Shankar is a loyal follower, however, he falls in love with his master’s wife, Gauri. When Shankar and Gauri run off, Shankar is thrown from a cliff and left for dead, and Gauri is sold to a bordello.

    I mean, Koyla wasn't any good, but I probably wouldn't have loathed it as much if it hadn't used the 1492 theme as its own. I'm not bothered about the plagiarism per se, but oh god, that tune became so annoying so fast. Having SRK express his mute feelings on a tiny flute playing it was just the last straw. On the upside: Amrish Puri's catchphrase is "Bloody phool!" and he says it frequently, with great conviction.
