What are people saying?

  • Warren Spratley's rating of the film La lectrice

What metaphysics, self-reflexivity, & poetry Deville generates by way of form from this relatively uncomplicated narrative! Every stylistic gesture is dazzling & suggestive, while the literary citations only underscore the film's emotional conviction. Miou-Miou in a barely delineated dual-role, a woman discerning how multi-varied we all need to be in relation to others. Beethoven, Baudelaire, the intermediary spaces.
