  • pepoire's rating of the film La Maison des Lions

This short is just the total package. Tinted and hand coloured, excellently shot, suspenseful, and with the awesome payoff of having the lady of the manor, in full evening regalia, chasing two grown lionesses around the house and back into their cages. Definitely one of those instances where silent film folk did not go out of their way to be kind to animals, though, so be warned if you can't bear that.
