Our take

Based on burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee’s gloriously titled novel The G-String Murders, this Oscar®-nominated musical shimmies and shakes with fleshy titillation. Barbara Stanwick is divine as the wisecracking stripper turned amateur detective, bedecked in encrusted stage outfits by Edith Head.
