Its gimmicky, mid-point double-twist starts to enliven Lake Bodom's traditional expository basicality, that's only shaped with a glue of 10 minutes of badly contrived slasher situations, false scares, and bad character motivations. The twists are equally as dumb and spoon-fed as they are at least a break from its initial hackneyed attempt. It's still bad.... but I can't tell if it's as bad as I said... or even worse?
“Bodom” plays with the clichés of the teen slasher genre. It twists the expectations in a couple ways that are predictable but still of interest, plus it’s beautifully shot but...it’s very teeny up to the point that is annoying. Everything is explained to the last detail as if the viewer was a small child which results (among other things) in a clumsy and forced dialogue that destroys the feeling in the movie.
Well isn't this just a mess?
Some points for local genre movie, which is always hard to create. But in general the plot is quite scattered. Don't even get me started on the montage revealing the (second) big twist.
