After coming across one or two positive reviews of "Lake Of The Dead". I decided to track a copy down and give it a go.I'm glad that I did, because its not only a great (English language) title, but also a little gem of a film.It mixes the elements of a ghost story with the psycho on the loose and blends in a dose of humour. The scenes around the Lake are actually quite creepy and beautifully shot.A terrific little film

  4. εξώτερο Διάστημα's rating of the film Lake of the Dead

3,5 The mass of furious, gossamer-crocheted unearthly creatures could take advantage of reading “De Ira”, albeit Seneca’s endmost point against anger – shortness of life – doesn't affect post-everything existence: ghouls possess an aeonian afterlife to hate. "Wherever we live, it is transitory" is also babble in the wind: fettered by ball and chain to one aeolian hangout, ghosts flip the spatial mobility vs. lifespan

  5. kartina obskura's rating of the film Lake of the Dead

works great as thriller, suspense, mystery, horror, even drama. very different characters, each of them interesting in his own way, make great dialogues opposing each other but never "winning" over each other. always present mystery of the lake, wrapped in wonderful shadows and reflections. and humor is great. (on the side note, just these days i was re-reading strindberg´s "inferno", a book i loved a lot when i read

  6. Stian Gledje Bekkvik's rating of the film Lake of the Dead

The lighting! Oh, how wounderful it is to see the darkness of my world on screen.

  7. orangey's rating of the film Lake of the Dead

awful. small bourgeoisie comedy with neither the atmosphere for horror neither the laughs of a comedy. plus it's dated like hell

  8. Viktor Pedersen's rating of the film Lake of the Dead

The battle between spirituality and rationalism continues in The Lake Of The Dead, and the conclusion comes without discrediting either one. This is one of my favorite norwegian films, and as a crime/ horror film it manages to deliver.
