Technically unique and poetically disturbing with some really trippy-darkly moving touches and even funny sequences. An unconventional filmic experience beautifully served by the frightening electro-acoustic soundtrack of Michèle Bokanowski.
The way things move in Bokanowski's L'Ange is truly terrifying. This film is a cinematic piece of music, scored by the director's wife, a strange, fantastic and underrated composer, herself. There are moments that call for uncomfortable laughter, but mostly L'Ange captures an anxious darkness that defies description.
