I am going to drive through France, from the north to the south. I plan to stop in front of homes, places of business, municipal buildings. I am going to meet the people of France, to listen to what they have to say. Raymond Depardon.
This film is not currently playing on MUBI but 30 other great films are. See what's now showing
It is really sad to watch this film when you remember what Depardon directed thirty years ago. This compilation of meaningless dialogues that pretends to portray France today is actually in contradiction with his earlier work. It is at best a catalog, at worst bad television (zapping is not cinema). As superficial as can be, you wonder if Depardon is in need of money or something. Or if he's old.
