Kelvin Thompson's rating of the film L'éternel retour

3-4. Unusual in that it's thematically broader for a Jean Cocteau film, which isn't surprising, given that it's one of his older films. Still, it's crafted well enough, and this film marks the emergence of a number of Cocteau's earmarks, as well as enough smaller themes (like the push and pull between love and lust) to compensate for the lack of a unifying one.
