Our take

Bolstered by a cheeky script and a spirited score from the French New Wave’s Georges Delerue, Chris Marker’s stunning travelogue charms with a sweet tenderness for the people and the landscape of Siberia. As in his other celebrated works, the presence of animals is at once unexpected and delightful.
