Lisa, Go Home!

Liza, namo!

Directed by Oksana Buraja
Lithuania, Estonia, 2012
Documentary, Short

Liza has a secret. It will be there, that place somewhere high above where nobody hurts anybody, where everything is beautiful. “That’s where we will live, my family and I.” Liza whispers to herself when she expresses her feelings, which are the focus of Oksana Buraja’s fairly provocative film.

What are people saying?

  • Constance Bennett's rating of the film Lisa, Go Home!

A haunting and poetic portrait of innocence and childhood, and one girl's attempts to escape from the confinements of the world that the adults around her impose upon her. Each individual scene is wonderfully captured, and framed in such a way that most appear more as beautifully shot still photographs. A tale of dreams and yearnings for something else; something more and greater than the immediate present.
