LITTLE GIRL

Abondoned in a park, the two-year-old girl Asia is found by Patti, a circus woman living with her husband Walter in a trailer park in San Basilio on the outskirts of Rome.

With its mix of amateur and professional actors, location photography and heartfelt melodrama, Little Girl marks a return to the methods of Italy’s neorealist movement. Fans of the Dardenne brothers will be right at home among the film’s compelling characters and boundless reserves of empathy.
