3.8 stars. It's a little long in the tooth, but it turned me onto Švankmajer and is such a gnawsome gobbling delight that such shagginess can be passed over with enjoyably uncomfortable ease! I came across it late night Channel 4 as a teenager (when I used to stay up late to catch 'South Park' and 'KoTH') and my tastes and future academic career were transfigured. Babies are (thankfully inept) cannibals! CHOMPSLURP!
Lil' (cha)Otik or adding an otic glaze to old visual kicks from startling hybrids. In the 70s Švankmajer produced a series of etchings bonding together cut illustrations of animals and their skeletons, titled Natural Science as homage to Ernst's portfolio of frottages, in fact a perverse alloy of scrambled scientific data, apt juggling with mainstream psychoanalytic lore, black humor & off-base morphologies. Not that
