A breakthrough in contemporary Greek cinema, justly dominated then by Angelopoulos, Perakis' film is a funny and sharp critique of loafing as an act of 'resistance' during national service under the junta years. At the same time, he comments also on film as an art. The acting is superb by the then young talented actors and it gives an authentic view of the army as a microcosm of Greece.
