Ratings & Reviews

  1. peaches and plums's rating of the film Lonesome Jim

it's hard not to have an emotional breakdown within the first five minutes of walking into your parents' house ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  2. Ηράκλειτος Σκοτεινός Εφέσιος's rating of the film Lonesome Jim

  3. Evan Schafer's rating of the film Lonesome Jim

I think what worked about "Lonesome Jim" more than anything else was its simplicity, its ability to tell a story without the flashiness of special effects or cliched dialogue, and instead with acting performances from Casey Affleck and Liv Tyler that felt like they were not even acting. Superb direction from Steve Buscemi added to the realism, making it feel like pages out of a diary instead of a motion picture.

  4. Joel's rating of the film Lonesome Jim

All of the wonderful elements of an indie romantic flick but with the flaws as well. A neat perspective on life and love with a unique take but unfortunately a bit lacking in it's final punch.

  5. Alisa Rodriguez's rating of the film Lonesome Jim

  6. Paulitics's rating of the film Lonesome Jim

So badly written, acted, edited and the music is diabolical. How can you do this badly with a decent cast? It was uncomfortable to watch.

  7. rorydean's rating of the film Lonesome Jim

Interesting and oddball, Buscemi the director is about as unpredictable as his films - always character studies, sometimes to the point of excess but nevertheless interesting. Casey Affleck's awkward portrayal of a dysfunctional young man is touching and effective with a subtle performance by Liv Tyler. Love Mark Boone Junior in this film. If you don't know him, you should.
