Our take

The Dardenne brothers’s Cannes-winning urban drama presents a potent and gritty depiction of the immigrant experience in Europe. Impressive newcomer Arta Dobroshi is powerfully understated in her portrayal of the young Albanian woman at the center of a web of duplicity and despair.
