A documentary look at the hugely influential US indie rock band The Pixies, who revolutionized the alternative music scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
One of the better music documentaries I've seen, maybe just because I'm such a huge fan of the Pixies - non-fans might not be as enthusiastic. Fascinating looks into the lives of the band members and, of course, great music.
Too much random footage, and a little too sad to see how miserable and washed up they are in spite of their reunion and success. Five stars for the music, though.
In no way do I view what they did as selling out -- merely reaping a bit of well-deserved cash, a decade or two, too late. Sad how distant they are from each other, though. And Kim Deal still rocks.
Love this documentary. Such an interesting point in this band's career. So engaging.
love the band. not so much this doc.
