Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film Lucky Star

Dernier film muet de Borzage, une rare perle cinématographique ! www.cinefiches.com

  2. εξώτερο Διάστημα's rating of the film Lucky Star

3,7 Through a lens, mistily, or steamily in metathesis. Born at the Age of Steam's conclusion, cinema clouds many of its early works in haloing fog (brouillard), because the past is strung with / drunk on ghosts that cling to and blur (brouille) vision, while tears / memories enclose the viewer in a smeared, rainy capsule. Is M. Cotillard's fame a remote cinephile throwback at the déjà-instated J. Gaynor beauty type?

  7. El Biffo's rating of the film Lucky Star

Borzage had an amazing talent for telling a simple story. If you enjoyed this, also see SEVENTH HEAVEN!

  8. José Neves's rating of the film Lucky Star

"Desire" list. Gaynor and Farrell # 3, a truly unforgettable couple. Farrell, the most modern of the silent cinema heartthrobs, an immaculate face and body at the service of a romantic imagery. Perfection under Borzage's wise eye.

  9. Kenji's rating of the film Lucky Star

This silent melodrama, about a wheelchair-bound war vet who falls for a poor country lass but has to contend with an interloping scoundrel, may seem old fashioned corn to some. But i love it. Farrell and Gaynor make a gran' couple and once again, she melts my heart.

  10. Catarina C Gomes's rating of the film Lucky Star

Until you watch Charles Farrell running to reach his sweetheart in his weak limbs and a cane you haven't witnessed love.
