A weirdly neglected film - usually reliable Halliwell calls it a "miscast melodrama" & know-it-all Leonard Maltin has never heard of it. Very enjoyable. Although it ahs to be admitted that its music is totally out of period and Dorothy Lamour's singing would have got her locked up for obscenity in the 1900s. Dorothy was a very tasty piece. The ending is about as realistic as a deep fried M&M (whatever that might be).
