Ratings & Reviews

  1. J. O.'s rating of the film Mad Bastards

The film feels appropriately hot and sweaty during the day, while cold and lonely during the night. Although there was too many musical interludes that stretched out (and seemingly strung together) scenes, the performances were interesting and the story was simple and touching. Australian cinema has been the best of the world in recent years - and while "Mad Bastards" wasn't the best, it certainly had its moments.

  2. Matt Richards's rating of the film Mad Bastards

A slice of tough-life on belonging, anger displacement and reconciliation within the aboriginal community. Some great acting from the main copper and a lot that rings true for anyone who's spent any time up north with a mob. On the down-side.. way too much music used to try and string the whole thing together and a story that feels a little underdeveloped. 2.5 stars
