Ratings & Reviews

  1. HKFanatic's rating of the film Madea Goes to Jail

More than any Madea film I've yet to see, "Jail" suffers from a severe case of tonal whiplash, as writer/creator Tyler Perry jarringly cuts from scenes of tear-filled revelations and violent abuse to the cartoon-like Madea forklifting a racist woman's car in a Kmart parking lot. If the viewer can get over the tonal dissonance (emphasis on the 'if'), they'll be rewarded with some of the biggest laughs in the series.

  2. Illusion Travels By Streetcar's rating of the film Madea Goes to Jail

    "Fascinatingly terrible." http://illusionpodcast.blogspot.com/2015/04/episode-53-tyler-perrys-tyler-perry.html

  3. Kelvin Thompson's rating of the film Madea Goes to Jail

Absolutely awful; uses its promotional material to trick the audience into attending a heavy-handed morality play.
