  1. au's rating of the film Magic Magic

dance ........ now dance like a whore ............ put your hand in the fire...................... las palabras de m cera son como un mantra y se filtran por osmosis

  2. Paul Prt's rating of the film Magic Magic

  3. Henri de Corinth's rating of the film Magic Magic

The photography, music, locations, and narrative ambiguities (hypnosis, genophobia, faith healers, etc.) are all great -almost 'Symptoms' or 'Un Lac' great- but Michael Cera was embarrassing and painful to watch and ruined the effect that everyone else was aiming for. Too bad.

  4. Michael Zyx MH Claes's rating of the film Magic Magic

Perfect interpretation & realization for this teenagers story, at the border of possession and mental illness. So much better from all the stupidities of the commercial circuit. ===== Interprétation, réalisation parfaites pour cette histoire d'ados à la frontière de la possession et de la maladie mentale, bien au dessus du lot des fadaises adolescentes du circuit commercial.

  5. Clarisse Lemaitre's rating of the film Magic Magic

Magic Magic, ce film au beau titre évocateur, nous plonge dans la folie dans laquelle tombe une jeune femme fragile et dérangée, et pourtant aucun propos n'en est tiré, aucune leçon, contrairement à ce que le film essaie de suggérer.

  6. Ludovic72's rating of the film Magic Magic

  7. Clara C.'s rating of the film Magic Magic

could not make it to the end...

  8. Tibulle85's rating of the film Magic Magic

  9. blyniukas's rating of the film Magic Magic

It left such an impression on me that I felt compelled to write my dissertation on the aesthetics of madness in film. It so skillfully plays with the viewers' expectations, keeps switching between the objective and subjective, between perspectives of different characters, that you're kept bemused, guessing till the very last second. Love how none of the characters is likeable. Brilliant psychological 'mindfuck' film!

That horny sheepdog comments: "Chaos reigns".

  14. yasdnil's rating of the film Magic Magic

Magic Magic was a terribly uncomfortable watch. I love Emily Browning and Juno Temple, but even their loveliness couldn't save this wreck. Cera's character was extremely weird and wrong-feeling too. Ugh.

  15. Fanny's rating of the film Magic Magic

confusing ? not in a good way

  16. Paolo Simeone's rating of the film Magic Magic

Please, buy some lamp for Christopher Doyle next time. It would be nice to see something in that darkness.

  17. chazell's rating of the film Magic Magic

Weirdly disappointing, Cera singing and dancing to The Knife possibly the best bit?

  18. António Mendes's rating of the film Magic Magic

Sebastián Silva sure knows how to create atmosphere and Christopher Doyle's camera does just that. However the script is so unbelievable and it's characters so unlikeable that Magic Magic becomes the best unintentional comedy of the year.

  19. dana danger's rating of the film Magic Magic

this film is pretty good until the last 20 minutes, which are intense and emotional but feel cheap and unearned. it's a tightly crafted story about female neurosis until then.

  20. Luis Pires's rating of the film Magic Magic

That was uncomfortable. Wonderfully done. Your mind just follows hers into degradation.

  21. filmcapsule's rating of the film Magic Magic

Ludicrous, unconvincing and tedious. Poor Juno Temple does way too much heavy lifting, and Michael Cera is shockingly inappropriate for the film. Trumped up, phony "ambience" and way less successful than the more modest Crystal Fairy.

  22. Carlos Filipe Freitas's rating of the film Magic Magic

A totally expendable thriller that lacks nerve. Review and Rating:

  23. msmichel's rating of the film Magic Magic

A colossal waste of time and energy spending 95 minutes with this Polanski want-to-be. An interesting premise is soon lost in over-acting and poorly planned execution. Cera and Temple who have been so good elsewhere are both just terrible here and the film becomes a chore to get through. A real disappointment based on the reports from Sundance this past year.

  24. Ulrich JARLØV's rating of the film Magic Magic

there's a lot to admire: Firstly the acting: Juno Templeton's tour de force and Michael Cera's weird and completely original performance - I've always found Cera bland, so he really surprised me here. As for Silva: the mood he creates and the dredd he builds is impressive. Unfortunately he doesn't do enough with it and the ending is a bit of a let down. But still the overall ride makes up for the shortcomings.
