Our take

As in their earlier dark comedy Aaltra, French director Benoît Delépine and Gustave de Kervern use the road movie genre as an avenue for droll, deadpan observations on the banality of life. Gérard Depardieu is pitch-perfect as the retiree finding himself after years of dead-end work.
