  1. amandav's rating of the film Maniac

cat scene when he plucks out of the eyeball? anyone know what's up with that

  2. msmichel's rating of the film Maniac

A crazy example of early exploitation cinema that deserves its place amongst the all time golden turkeys. Grave robbing, cue card reading, horrible acting, gouging out and eating a cat's eye and a wrestle between two women armed with hypodermic needles are just some of the elements on display here. Bizarre but oh so awful.

  3. L.F.G.'s rating of the film Maniac

  4. El Biffo's rating of the film Maniac

Horrendous acting doesn't matter, this film still deserves 4 stars for weirdness and originality. Independent film pioneer Dwain Esper was a real out-of-the-box thinker. This indie had much more nudity than any of the studio pictures of that time, and Esper got away with it by not going through normal film distributors; he would rent out theaters and promote, distribute and screen films completely independently!

  5. Log Lady's rating of the film Maniac

Probably more of a historically important film, but I still had fun. Crazy overacting, nudity, and the weird plot make this a must see for all fans of weird horror. A hundred times better than the mediocre films catered to mainstream audiences.

  6. CarlosEsquives's rating of the film Maniac

  7. Roscoe's rating of the film Maniac

A fascinating piece of American independent exploitation cinema -- that doesn't mean it is a good movie by any means.
