Manic is actually a very beautiful film, there are moments in this film that just so intense and feel so real. I don't know what I was expecting from this film but it had a little of everything. This is a semi authentic look inside of a mental hospital and I'm glad this film doesn't romanticize the experience because it isn't something to take lightly. I'm proud of Joseph and his commitment when it comes to this film
Wow. It certainly succeeds with the dogme 95 approach, it sometimes felt so real that it was uncomfortable. Great performances. The basis of the story isn't surprising or in any way new - but that's not the point, is it. It's intelligently crafted and these kids (both the actors and their characters) are fucking amazing.
