Whenever I find a film like this I cry knowing a generation of cinema has been lost to digital medium. The Hi-Def digital-RED 7k-8 billion-colours a-what-have-you world is for the birds. 24 frames a second. That's all you really need to tell a sweet little story.
Most people sooner or later find an unreasonably obscure movie that speaks directly to them, with seemingly absolute and intimate knowledge of their soul, life story and aestetics. This is the one for me. Made with the greatest sympathy for all things imperfect. Gentle, quiet and irrational, it's filled with the essense of being, which in daily life always seems to hide just behind the corner.
