We can compare the two first Hunger Games movies with the two first Maze Runner movies. It seems unfair to me that the latter is often dismissed just as another one of a trend. It is a trend and it is another one. But it is the best one. The second Hunger Games movie was a joke. And the fourth another disappointment. This one actually is more than just pointless action. And it adds to the first one, flawed and all.
"Minho, noo! They took Minho, I have to go back" Kept waiting for "Alentejo, here I come!" :P Patricia Clarkson, Lili Taylor, Barry Pepper & Giancarlo Esposito? Not bad for a teen flick.Brenda was THE best sniper ever(female agency, fuck yeah!). Also 'Humane Society monitored this film':really? What animals were on set?The CGI mice?Did the Land Rovers Defender stall in New Mexico & were horses used instead(not likely)?
It's amazing all the movies and tv shows that this movie is stealing from. "They're going to The Island!" "It's Mad Max part 1! It's time to turn around and go back!" "Walking Dead!" "Hunger Games!" "Coma!" "Winston is a red shirt!" My brother says the movie is totally different from the books. I think the writers threw the book away and just stole plot elements from wherever they could.
like most part of 'The Scorch Trails'. Intense, suspenseful, while the horror & action works effectively. Just wish it grittier. And more Cranks, please?
I don't mind it deviated so much from the book to keep it simpler, but the plot is rather dull and the last 30 minutes' such a let down.
Yet, I love Gyula Pados' cinematography. It's sharp, clean and lil' bit edgy. The FX also admirable, considering the budget.
so disappointing. too much predictable stuff and recurring scenes/situations we all know already from hollywood.. and always the same dialogues and jokes.. too much action without a pause.. god I could list so many things..
