Ratings & Reviews

  1. Karl J. Kipling's rating of the film Melodies of a White Night

The prestige international co-production always has a bad odor about it: lost in translation, incompatible styles, negotiated mediocrity. So all the more astonishing this terrific film, in which the strengths of the Japanese and the Russian cinemas merge in total harmony and compliment one another. A delicate, lyrical romance of the first order. The word is fantastic.
