Our take

A hit with audiences at the 2017 Berlinale, this fiction debut from cinematographer Joshua Z. Weinstein examines the complex nature of parental bonding. Taking to the streets of New York’s Hasidic neighborhoods, Menashe is an eye-opening portrait of a community and a heartfelt ode to fatherhood.
