If the tone of Slacker Uprising (2007) is "just after it happened", the tone here is "just before". And watching it after it did happen (and paying close attention to Moore's speech) feels weird. It's like (this is just me) he wanted to create a document. Kind of a "I told you so". The 2007 movie, for the history, will go as the failed attempt. And this as the failed warning. And Michael Moore a rising stand up act?
Moore continues his recent trend of optimism in a pointed if conventional filmed performance that doesn't so much lambast Trump, but lauds Clinton and the future of America. It's not for the staunch committeds, but an appeal to undecided voters - America, what sort of country do you want to live in?
