Ratings & Reviews

  1. weinbrandbabsi's rating of the film Miniatures: Many Berlin Artists in Hoisdorf

There's the Tscherkassky drive of flickering images in a visually exciting and brilliant way but all these metanarrative - "Bild im Bild im BIld" is just too much for me. Why is it, that since the 60's you can't have artists hanging out with other artists without beginning this weird fold into themselves, this apathy and boredom?

  2. Robert Peters-Gehrke's rating of the film Miniatures: Many Berlin Artists in Hoisdorf

Sometimes avantgarde can be very tiresome and boring, like in this case.

  3. Stefan Drees's rating of the film Miniatures: Many Berlin Artists in Hoisdorf

I like the autoreflexive attitude of this film; but in my opinion the result is not as strong as the tight handling of visual and acoustic materials in Tscherkassky's latest experimental films.

  4. Marco Bevilacqua's rating of the film Miniatures: Many Berlin Artists in Hoisdorf

It is, like most German experimental music, a "collage" of sensation and feeling expressed in a total free form. It only interests me as an exhibition of light color tones.

  5. anarresti's rating of the film Miniatures: Many Berlin Artists in Hoisdorf

Unlike many of later Tscherkassky's work, where the looping images and sounds create a paranoid, almost schizoid atmosphere, in this film, the fading images and fuzzy overlaping, a sense of inaccuracy all compose a fantasmatic, dreamy tone. This is one of the most ambient, less noisy experiments. And still, one of the strangest, most experimental, with a lot rougher edges than the Cinemascope Trilogy, for example.

  6. caro_larrain's rating of the film Miniatures: Many Berlin Artists in Hoisdorf

Muy interesante filme-ensayo-poema-sensación, sobre todo por la particularidad de ver trabajo de Tscherkassy sobre imagen documental. La ausencia de subtitulos son un problema, ya que los diálogos en alemán son incomprensibles.
