An homage/parody of sci-fi films (and also kind of a female empowerment story) doesn't work, plain and simple. The crude & half-baked humor fails and the story is wasted on generic material (only the banter between the monsters somewhat works). The voice actors do their best but it's too bad a premise like this is wasted so easily.
Undeniably flawed and some of the jokes can be pretty dumb at times but for the most part I enjoyed it. Entertaining, some fun jokes here and there, a likable protagonist, some funny secondary characters, some good action sequences (However, I admit I would had liked more fight scenes) and a creative tribute to the monster films from the 1950s. Mostly a popcorn movie, but it had its share of some good moments.
