Surprisingly endearing adaptation of the children's classic about the businessman who unwittingly inherits a band of penguins from his father, an antarctic explorer. Jim Carrey gets into a lot of his typical antics, but Angela Lansbury adds a little class to the proceedings, and the film is mostly harmless and even occasionally charming entertainment for kids.
Thoroughly predictable, cliché, commercial and has potty humour. But this movie entertains! I laughed, everyone laughed. Jim Carrey has toned down a little bit but his charm still shines. I really enjoyed the interaction between him and the penguins. This movie delivers the family fun comedy. To enjoy it, just sit back and embraced the concept of mindless humour, don't bother about the movie formula.
