started out with some promise but was not able to carry the energy at all once the location changed to the large building. didn't have much reason to care about the characters. cinematography is all over the place, but the beginning had a pretty nice concentration of shots/colors.
A New French Extremity film that doesn't demand your attention. The photography is gorgeous, with a nice icy blue tint to everything, but - like a lot of these French horror films - the gore and sadism go so over the top that it becomes almost comical. The sometimes low-budget make-up and gore effects don't help much either. David Morlet seems like he'd be more at home helming an "Alien vs. Predator" movie.
