Our take

Hong Kong’s king of melancholy, Wong Kar Wai (In the Mood for Love), traveled to America for his English-language debut: a sprawling road movie and a neon-hued un-Hollywood romance starring Jude Law, Norah Jones & Natalie Portman. But it’s musician Cat Power who steals the show and the soundtrack.
