NEVER accept any meat, cheese or other comestible (including sweets), article of clothing, beauty product or indeed gift of ANY sort (solicited or unsolicited) from a human being aged 18 or over who is unknown to you (or to your parent or legal guardian) if the aforementioned human being is unable to first provide you with valid ID and a satisfactory stamped and up-to-date background check disclosure-&-barring form.

  3. Martin Wilson's rating of the film Never Take Sweets from a Stranger

Brilliant application to the modern world of key elements from the HAMMER gothic landscape. Instead of the Baron's escaped monster lumbering through the eerie pine forest, there is - an aged pedophile. Instead of the villagers being preyed upon by their feudal overlord, the Count, there is the pedophile's protective and powerful family, the town fathers. Final lingering sense of a community adrift. Hammer at its best

  4. Daniel S.'s rating of the film Never Take Sweets from a Stranger

***1/2 .A very good surprise. The movie could have been sanctimonious but isn't. The theme is very daring considering it was shot in 1960, the photography - thank you, Freddie Francis - superb and the villain one of the most disturbing characters I've seen in a long time. Highly recommended.
