Some great cinematography moments, though this is definately not my kind of cinema with its overly dramatic scenes of acrobacy and fighting. Nevertheless, the characters' were great and so were their actors and actresses in particular
A perfect balance between old school wuxia and the narrative techniques of hong kong of the 80s and early 90s, the golden age. Middle act is a bit slugish, but the cast and direction is always in the right track.
Though it lacks the carefully crafted tension of the original 1967 movie, this movie has the trademark of the exuberant hong kong new wave master - the camera becomes involved in martial arts as much as the actors.
