There's a kind of telegrafed plot twist, that is too predictable. Still, simply using Singularity as a theme for a kids' movie is quite brave. As is alien invansion in 2015's "Home". The way the main character is captivated by a machine is becoming a cultural thing, as seen in "Lost in Space". The machines/AI remain dangerous, but it seems that a child's inocence is the anthidode, and brings humanity redemption.
