Henry Hathaway United States, 1953

Log Lady's rating of the film Niagara

Rewatch ~ An underappreciated gem. Niagara Falls as the backdrop gives this a dreamlike quality, as do the colors and the play with shadows and space (the hazy softness in the cabin scenes is as good as in any b&w noir). The role of a sizzling femme fatale is made for Monroe, which I like to think was noticed by Warhol as well when he made his Marilyn Diptych.
