Rape and Revenge all'italiana, il sociale viene magnificamente calato all'interno del film. La spirale di tensione s'intreccia con la sottotrama del sottoproletariato giovanile e della Borghesia Cattolica. Proprio quest'ultima riuscirà a farla franca alla fine del film, sguinciando alla sete di vendetta. Un grandissimo film
A quite sinister and heavily claustrophobic one with its few shocking sequences, good quality for the genre. It also plays a ferocious realistic and dramatic card. Aldo’s best horror-thriller film with his original classic « la corta notte delle bambole di vetro ». Macha Meril has really played in an incredibly wide diversity of films.
Aldo Lado does have that little extra 'something' which distinguishes first class auteur/directors from the hundreds of good technicians who unfortunately make up the world of Cinema nowadays. Night Train Murders is undoubtedly a little masterpiece of the genre The sublime opening credits with Demis Roussos as musical observer, the claustrophobic torture and rape scenes and the great acting will haunt you for days.
Rape/revenge movie billed as an unofficial sequel to The Last House on the Left. Just as depraved as that film but done with more technical skill, which just makes the whole thing more uncomfortable (which it should be). The transformation of an early victim into an assailant is the most disturbing aspect.
Poorly paced (downright dull for the majority of the first fourty minutes) and more conventionally plot-driven than most Euro-cult thrillers, still stylish and enjoyably sadistic Last House rip-off. Macha Meril is pretty fantastic though, just a bit of a slug to get to the good bits (and they are amazing, Sade would be proud). "She's as tight as a frightened asshole!"
