The acting blew me away and I consider it to be the strongest point of this movie. It's completely natural, as if the camera wasn't even there. Another strong point is the cinematography, which is complemented by the beauty of China's rural landscapes. All in all an excellent movie that's definitely worth watching!
Sweet film and yes, can make you cry at the end if you're feeling silly like I did tonight! Very nice picture and a moving story about poverty, education, hope, perseverance and most of all the cooperation and purity of these young souls. Some don't like how the power of media in charitable actions is being romanticised, but it's still a quite inspiring film, encouraging to support each other through any means we can
I don't know if it's because i'm unwell, exhausted, a very sweet film or a combination of the three, but the last 5 minutes made me cry. It's only the 5th or 6th film i've ever seen in my life to make me do so. Even if I was well, I would still call this film wonderful <3
This brought tears to my eyes. Yet it’s more from manipulation than a revealed truth. Columbia Pictures! A propaganda film for charitable values, uses an insight into the lives of the poor in China, as a way to undermine. What the film attacks is left unclear and amorphous. Manipulative indeed!
