Our take

German writer-director Katrin Gebbe’s feature debut is a compelling, transcendent horror evoking the provocative cinema of Ulrich Seidl. Shot in a jittery, handheld style that is enriched by a lyrical visual palette, Nothing Bad Can Happen draws very strong performances from its young cast.
