Building on the loose influence of his earlier Out of Sight, Soderbergh succeeds in crafting his most accessible work. While too often coasting on the charm of its ensemble, this first installment feels closer to the spirit of classical Hollywood in its playful but straight-forward engagement with character & plot. The second film is more satisfying IMO, but as ever Soderbergh's style here is intelligent & cinematic.
This is a badass and entertaining film that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. Soderbergh crafted an intricate heist film with an ensemble cast that practically bursts off the screen. The chemistry of these great actors is so brilliant you can't help but love this film.
With Ocean's Eleven Steven Soderbergh creates one of the finest heist films. This is by no means Soderbergh's best film, but it is a fun, well made remake that both improves upon and honors the first Ocean's 11. Soderbergh assembles an incredible cast and they all have great chemistry. Soderbergh also films Las Vegas in a breathtaking way. The Vegas strip has never looked better!
Relaxed coolness delivering a lot of style. The film has a great ensemble and a playful fun heist story where especially George Clooney act at his very best as a romantic con man who do a fantastic heist only to get his hands on Julia Roberts. Sadly the romantic subplot is also the movie's weakest point as the romantic part slows the movie down.
