Sam Neill is perfection as Anti-Christ on Earth trying to become the President of the United States. I like the scope of the story that tries to be more epic and dramatic than ever and it is more of an adventure this time than a pure horror movie. Only the ending is anti-climatic and disappointing as the perfect one would have been to see him in The White House as the new President of the United States.
Although smoother and pacier than its immediate predecessor, this is just another trip to the box office. The English locales add a sense of unease - see the pastoral horrors of Witchfinder General, Wicker Man, et al for greater effect - and there is a delicious sense of Herodian tastelessness polishing off newborn infants, but otherwise the foot is firmly on the commercial peddle.
