Ratings & Reviews

  1. Tutu888's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

Probably only Agnes Varda could made such a heartfelt homage to cinema with the extravaganza of Fellini

  2. Francisca's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  3. VincentVendetta's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

A sad reminder that just because you've seen a lot of movies doesn't mean you have anything interesting to say about them. Long live cinema, death to cinephilia!

  4. Diderot's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

An irresistible ode to cinema by Varda. I particularly love the pairing of Moreau and Schygulla. (Though, to be honest, it's largely a negligible film.)

  5. EdieEmm's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

If I were Cinema, courted by all these directors and their love letters to me, it's Varda I'd fall for. I adore this. 3.75

  6. Tim Chandler's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

Whimsical, joyous fun. What cinema, and Varda, are all about. Pure love.

  7. msmichel's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

A virtual car crash of a film that any self respecting cineaste or film buff won't be able to look away from. Varda's take on the centenary of cinema was this warm over baked confection full of film history, star cameos and somewhat inspired lunacy. Assuredly not for all tastes.

  8. Jason's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

The cinema is not exactly suffering from a dearth of love letters to itself, but leave it to the immortal Varda to pull out all the stops staging a fun frolic that meanders and lazes and generally conducts itself in a free-spirited and easy-go-lucky manner without sacrificing that core elemental passion without which the whole damn thing would be a con. Disliking this guileless movie would be glum and unsatisfying.

  9. lou.'s rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  10. LauraPalmer's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

I love cinema even more than life itself.

  11. Victor LVD's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  12. Tibulle85's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  13. BUSTER TIERNEY's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  14. Michael Zyx MH Claes's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

================= VARDA herself is the living soul of cinema. She loves filmmakers & actors. And they love her in return. In this movie - where all her friends were keen to participate - VARDA is Simone CINEMA.

  17. RoRoRoro's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  18. FREYCENON's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  19. lic007's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  20. Didonne's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  21. Ludovic72's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

  22. Daniel S.'s rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

When I read here and there professional critics who write that this film is a lame comedy, I wonder whether they love cinema. They love their job, no doubt about that, but are they really in love with Cinema? I don't think so because this film is a declaration of love to the movies and whoever doesn't see this must be very unhappy. Recommended.

  23. Max Seqgar's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

Not amongst her best, but Varda did put a fun piece together to celebrate what we love the best!

  24. Lynch/Fellini's rating of the film One Hundred and One Nights

Agnes Varda's loving tribute to cinema is magical!
