Synopsis

At the end of the 1980s, Kristina Konrad collected opinions on the streets of Uruguay in relation to a referendum to be held on a law granting impunity to those responsible for the military dictatorship. One or Two Questions takes a magnifying glass to the democratic process.

What emerges is not a televisual mishmash of stock images and sound bites, but the rare archival film that actually trusts its material, a work with the most profound respect for those who become, in varying degrees of complicity, the subject of media images. It is an eminently diligent, honorable attempt to let the people speak—even if it is too late—and not a second of it is superfluous.
