Operation Autumn is a political “thriller” about the covert operation of the assassination of Presidential candidate Humberto Delgado, carried out by the PIDE (the fascist Portuguese regime’s secret police) in February of 1965 in the Spanish boarder town of Villanueva del Fresno.

I gave it 3 stars because, even if largely imperfect, Portugal needs this kind of historical thriller in its cinema. Otherwise, it's pretty mediocre - once again, aside from its historical value. Diogo Dória's self-interrogation scene makes it worth the uncertain directing and editing.
