I have just watched the new Blu-ray of OPHÉLIA two times in quick succession because it gave me so much pleasure. Maybe my new favourite early Chabrol. It could arguably be seen as a delectably comic cousin to Bellocchio's FISTS IN THE POCKET, which came out a year later (and not just because Lou Castel resembles André Jocelyn). Chabrol's is the more joyous (so joyous!) anarchic take-down of the moneyed classes.
