Ratings & Reviews

  1. Lights in the Dusk's rating of the film Orson Welles: The One-Man Band

Interesting but frustrating documentary that explores the tragedy of how arguably the greatest American filmmaker was unable to complete his projects, some of which seem astounding. The speech that he gives to the AFI towards the beginning is truly cutting; his words are humble but disguise the bitterness & contempt & disappointment expressed on his face. Welles was a genuine inspiration, as these recordings confirm.

  2. Hunter Duesing's rating of the film Orson Welles: The One-Man Band

If you're a fan of Orson Welles, you pretty much have to see this, it's a great little peek into the man's unfinished films and his later life in general. Check it out on Criterion's F FOR FAKE DVD.
