    Figurehead for figurehead. An idiosyncratic relocation if not reimagining of a tragedy, here venerated in quasi-religious tones. The conceit-casting of Jarman as Pasolini has more resonance in it's offscreen associations than anything on, and as with much gay British filmmaking of this period it's more about solidarity than statement, which at any rate is subsumed by the blocky visuals.
